DECORATE A SMALL STORAGE BOX

Kids love this project. The idea is to supply a box of any size for them to decorate. When complete depending on its size it can be used for many purposes such as storing jewelry, action figure toys or even socks. Before you begin be sure to have the following items:

Supplies Needed

Cardboard or gift box
Non-toxic Paint
Paint Brush or Sponge Brushes
Glue
Glitter, Confetti, Beads and other craft accessory items

Instructions
1. If you're using a box with any type of labels or tape remove them.

2. Prepare a safe area to paint. Use newspaper or other material to protect the surface where the painting will take place. After that try not to interfere too much. This is a craft for your child to have fun. Don't try to do it for them. It's good to watch in case they attempt to do something harmful but otherwise let them paint any and all colors they want. You will need some drying time for the paint so prepare to entertain them with another activity in the meantime. In some cases you may have to wait until the next day.

3. When the paint is dry let them decorate their painted box and glue accessories on the box. Supervise but assist as little as possible. You want it to be your child's creation.

When done and glue is dry put the decorated storage box to good use. Store something in it that belongs to them. You'll be amazed how proud they will be about something they created all by themselves.

2. Use the pencil (help if needed) and punch three or four holes in the roll.

MUSIC MAKER BOTTLE SHAKER

You can use plastic soda or soft drink bottles to make a music maker bottle shaker. Kids always like things that make sounds. This is a fun craft project.

Supplies Needed
Empty and dry 16 - 20 oz size plastic Soda Bottle
Dry grains such as rice, beans or corn
Masking Tape

Instructions
1. Fill the soda bottle 1/3 to 1/2 full of dry grain. You can do several bottles placing a different grain or a combination of grains in each for a different sound.

2. Close the bottle cap tight. Secure the cap by wrapping tape around it several times.

If you want you can let them decorate or personalize the outside of the bottles with colors or craft accessories. Now that your musical instrument is complete...let the music begin!
